
Water: an Elixir of Beauty
Establish good habits that can help you to keep a healthy routine is essential, and a basic one is undoubtedly drinking water.
As we start our new day, the very first thing we can do to ourselves is drinking a glass of purified water.
Consider the fact we have slept for many hours and rest our system. We are sleeping, but our body is working on restoring the damaged cells. It works hard to itself to expel toxins.
That’s why it is necessary to drink water as soon as we wake up, it will help the expulsion.
Water has been for many years the second most popular beverage in the U.S. after soft drinks. That means that the average of people don’t consider that drinking water is an important action to do.
So how much water should we drink daily? While I was studying to certified, I learned that drinking between 64 ounces and 0.67% of our body weight is the right amount of water intake to keep ourselves hydrated. For example, if our body weight is 150 pounds, then you need to drink anywhere between 64 ounces and 100 ounces of water per day.
I like to think of water as a BEAUTY ELIXIR. It’s so good for many reasons:
• IT REGULATES THE BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL
Drinking water regularly will help our body flush some of the extra sugar when we go to the bathroom, through the urine.
• IT KEEPS THE KIDNEYS HEALTHY
Water is fundamental to keep our kidneys functioning well and healthy, preventing kidney stones and UTIs.
• IT FLUSHES BODY’S WASTE
When we drink water, we produce more urine, which will help us to flush out infection-causing bacteria.
• IT CARRIES NUTRIENTS TO OUR CELLS
Because water is an essential element in our bloodstream, it contributes to the transportation of nutrients to our cells.
• IT HELPS DIGESTION
Water will help to break down the foods we eat, so our body can absorb the nutrients better.
• BEAUTIFUL AND CLEAN SKIN
Water is essential to clear up the body from the inside, and because of the toxins expulsion process, our skin will also benefit from that.
• IT FIGHTS FATIGUE AND GIVES US MORE ENERGY
When our body is not well hydrated, it can act slower than usual, and we can experience a sense of tiredness, fatigue, and irritability.
• IT CAN HELP US WITH WEIGHT LOSS
A well-hydrated body can avoid overeating.
While we drink water, we boost our metabolism, we clean our system from body waste, and we stop retaining liquids. We will eliminate a feeling of swelling that will result in drop some pounds of water weight.
• IT PREVENTS MUSCLE CRAMPS
When our body is dehydrated, consequently our muscles are more likely to have cramps. This because we experience an unbalance between potassium and sodium. Stay hydrated!
